IT Flies is an annual competition held in both the UK and the USA where students from various universities meet and compete against each other with their innovative designs of various flying machines. We use this ambition as a motivating factor that helps us teach the students a huge number of skills in aircraft design, principles and physics of flight, research, technical presentations and other fields. Those hardworking enough to get on the teams sent to the competitions each year have a great track record of success. They always gain a tremendous amount from speaking to the talented test pilots employed to decide the competition winners.
